Turned off file and printer sharing in device properties.ĥ. Turned off "Network discovery" in advanced sharing settings.Ĥ. Here are some things I tried that did not work:ġ. I researched it a little and tried several things, but nothing so far made any difference. It just takes a long time, then it starts by itself. I don't have to touch the cable, jiggle it or anything like that. But I don't think that is the problem as the cable works fine when plugged into my laptop and it also works fine on this computer without having to touch the cable, it just takes a long time for the connection to be made. When I am waiting for the connection to be established, the troubleshooter will report that the cable isn't connected. Once the connection starts it works fine. The problem is that the Ethernet connection takes maybe 5 minutes or more to start when I boot up or wake the computer from sleep mode. ![]() Windows 10 Pro 64 bit Version 1803 OS Build 1734.829Ĭonnecting to router through wired Ethernet cable not using WiFi ![]() HP Compaq Elite 8300 MT Intel i7-3770 3.40Ghz ![]()
